PENGARUH INFRASTRUKTUR AIR MINUM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI

Abstract


Otonomi daerah memberikan kewenangan yang besar bagi pemerintah kabupaten/kota dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan infrastruktur air minum. Namun karena pemimpin daerah dipilih oleh rakyat dalam pemilihan kepala daerah, Bupati/walikota cenderung memprioritaskan program pembangunan yang berdampak secara jangka pendek ke dalam ekonomi, yang dianggap berperan penting bagi terpilihnya kembali petahana. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa  tingkat akses air minum memiliki dampak positif terhadap ekonomi daerah dalam jangka menengah (lima tahun), sehingga pembangunan air minum seharusnya dapat menjadi prioritas para pemimpin daerah.
